Most NFL teams don’t want to give their starters a lot of reps during the preseason, granted they could get hurt right before the start of the campaign.

The Buffalo Bills, however, aren’t messing around this time, and it seems like HC Sean McDermott wants the starters to get some reps.

According to a report by Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN, McDermott announced that he’d have the starters on the field for a quarter and a half in Saturday’s preseason clash vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Notably, most teams usually leave their starters in for a couple of series and then play the rest of the game with backups, so this is a rather bold decision by the Bills’ boss.

Buffalo has knocked on the door of Super Bowl contention for quite a while now, yet they always seem to crumble under pressure when the season is on the line and they have to square off against other contending teams.

Their talent has never been up to debate, as they continue to have one of the most stacked rosters in the game, not to mention an elite quarterback in Josh Allen.

However, some believe the clock is ticking on them and they need to get over the hump once and for all before their salary cap situation catches up with them and they need to part ways with some of their stars.

And clearly, McDermott doesn’t want to leave anything to chance and wants his team to be ready to perform from the very start of the campaign.
