Fans React To Marcus Smart Wearing Grizzlies Gear In The Gym

After getting beat by the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals in seven games, the Boston Celtics decided to shake things up this summer by making some moves to address the offensive end of the basketball floor.

The Celtics wasted no time in targeting the player they believe will help them improve offensively next season and for the foreseeable future, as they traded for veteran forward Kristaps Porzingis.

As part of this deal, which had to be reworked due to a health issue with Malcolm Brogdon, the Celtics sent arguably the team’s best defender in Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies, which ended his long stint with the team.

Although some Celtics fans and players weren’t crazy about the deal, the Grizzlies have brought in another critical piece to the championship puzzle and have improved their defense.

On Tuesday, fans of the franchise got a look at Smart sporting Grizzlies gear for the first time, as he was seen putting in some work on the basketball floor, via Bleacher Report.

Fans aren’t going wild for their new point guard in Memphis, and that’s not all that surprising as Smart is arguably on the downside of his career and not considered a star player in this league despite winning NBA Defensive Player of the Year two years ago.

Although Smart’s presence isn’t going to sell a lot of tickets in Memphis, the Grizzlies are a better squad with him in the fold, especially with Ja Morant set to miss the first 25 games of the upcoming season due to suspension.
