The Las Vegas Raiders are one team that is having an interesting offseason.

They released long-time quarterback Derek Carr and signed Jimmy Garoppolo to take his spot.

Also, the Raiders have been in a long contract dispute with running back Josh Jacobs.

The reigning NFL-leading rusher had a historic season last year.

He carried the ball 340 times for 1,653 yards and 12 touchdowns.

It was the best season of Jacobs’ career and now he wants to be paid like one of the game’s best rushers.

Jacobs is currently holding out from Raiders training camp as he waits for a new deal.

According to SiriusXM NFL Radio, Raiders GM Dave Ziegler is encouraged by where things stand in contract talks.

He believes both sides will find “common ground” to get Jacobs a new deal soon.

Jacobs is one of the most important players on the Raiders’ roster.

This team will most likely struggle on offense next year if he is not available.

Also, it does not help matters that star wide receiver Davante Adams is set to miss time with an injury.

The Raiders are already behind the eight-ball having to play in the AFC West.

For them to have any chance of competing they need all their best players to be available to play.

Keep an eye on the contract status of Jacobs as the summer moves on.

It should not surprise anyone if he decides to hold out into the regular season if a deal cannot be reached.
