Insider Details How James Harden’s Situation May Impact Joel Embiid’s Future

James Harden has put the Philadelphia 76ers in a tough spot, which is far from a surprise.

Just like he’s done with the Houston Rockets and Brooklyn Nets, Harden is trying to force his way out of the team, and he’s willing to go the extra mile and make things as uncomfortable as possible to be granted his wish.

Nonetheless, he’s dealing with someone as stubborn as he in Daryl Morey, so there’s a big chance this situation will be dragged all the way into the regular season.

That could be a major issue for the team’s future.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, all this turmoil could have a domino effect on Joel Embiid’s desire to stay with the franchise, and he believes the clock is ticking right now (via Legion Hoops).

Truth be told, Embiid has been the undisputed best player in Philadelphia since he was able to make his debut.

However, he’s failed to make the most of the star teammates he’s had throughout the course of the years, and he has a long history of shortcomings in the postseason, either because of injury or flat-out poor play.

So, to blame the team for their postseason struggles and try to force his way out of the team might not be fair, but it’s something we’ve seen over and over in this league.

As for Harden, it’s ironic that he’s mad about not getting a max contract and then decides to do this kind of thing, which is a likely reason why no team in the league was even slightly interested in offering such a deal in the first place.
