Each year, NFL players vote on the top-100 players in the league, and on Monday, this year’s edition of the ranking was released.

It was no surprise to see Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and two-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes at the top of the list, while Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson is at No. 2.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles is ranked No. 3, and analyst Joy Taylor said she’s “really pleased” to see him there, via “Speak” on FS1.

For years dating back to his college days, Hurts has been doubted by many pundits, but those days are over.

As a sophomore at the University of Alabama, he played poorly in the first half of the national championship game, and he was benched at halftime in favor of Tua Tagovailoa, who was then a freshman.

In his rookie season in the NFL, he replaced an injured Carson Wentz as the starter under center, and the chatter was that he simply didn’t have what it took to become a franchise QB.

But in 2022, he blossomed with 3,701 passing yards and 22 passing touchdowns, and he also added 760 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground.

Hurts led Philly to a 14-3 regular season record and a spot in the Super Bowl, where they blew a 10-point second-half lead and lost to Mahomes and the Chiefs in the closing seconds.

Most are picking the Eagles to come out of the NFC again, and Hurts and his team feel they have some unfinished business to take care of this time around.
