During training camp, not everything is going to go as planned for each player.

That was certainly what happened to New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones during a joint practice with the Detroit Lions.

Jones had one of his worst days of camp on Tuesday, including going 5-12 and missing some open receivers.

But, it appears that Jones bounced back on Wednesday.

According to Connor Hughes via Dov Kleiman, Jones was 8-11 on Wednesday, including two touchdown passes in 11-on-11.

This is great news for the Giants and their fans.

While struggles in training camp are no reason to be worried it is still not ideal.

The Giants made it clear this offseason that Jones is their franchise quarterback.

He signed a massive four-year extension and now has to live up to that contract.

Last season, Jones led the Giants to the Divisional round after his first career playoff win over the Minnesota Vikings.

But, his stats are not that of a franchise quarterback.

The Giants were better off using Jones’ legs rather than having him throw the ball.

Jones threw for 3,205 yards last year with 15 touchdowns and five interceptions.

But, he rushed for a career-high 708 yards and seven touchdowns.

New York needs to see Jones improve as a passer this year.

Throwing for 15 touchdowns is not going to cut it again.

The Giants are stuck with Jones after signing him to an extension.

So they should be willing to do whatever is necessary to get the best out of him.
