Analyst Says Russell Wilson Is Pressured To Succeed Under Sean Payton
The Denver Broncos were the most disappointing team in the league last season, and a lot of that had to do with Russell Wilson.
Wilson looked like a shell of himself and made Pete Carroll look like a genius for trading him for such a valuable return.
But as bad as Wilson was, he wasn’t put in a position to succeed with Nathaniel Hackett either.
And now that he has one of the best coaches in modern history in Sean Payton, the pressure is on him to deliver once and for all, at least according to NFL analyst Peter Schrager.
Schrager pointed out the fact that Payton had top-5 scoring offenses 11 times in a 15-year period, which is more than Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, and some of the seemingly best offenses in the league at the time.
Sean Payton had 11 Top 5 seasons in total offense between 2006-2020 with the Saints…

That’s why Schrager believes that if he fails to deliver, it won’t have anything to do with Payton suddenly forgetting how to call plays in the offense.
Wilson was one of the best quarterbacks in the game not long ago, and the talent and physical traits should still be there.
Moreover, he’s going to have an elite defense putting him in a position to succeed more often than not, not to mention a plethora of young weapons at his disposal.
Hackett did a terrible job with the team, but there’s no more room for excuses after the Broncos got Wilson the Head Coach he desperately wanted to play for.
