At this point in the summer, the NBA offseason is still going, with quite some time left before players have to report to training camp and then begin playing preseason games for their respective teams.

With the 2023 NBA Draft and NBA Summer League now over, there isn’t much left to look forward to, especially with NBA free agency dying down with most players signing with the team they intend to play for during the upcoming 2023-24 campaign.

However, some competitive basketball will be played later this month in the Philippines, with Team USA set to go up against the best of the best in the world in the FIBA World Cup.

Ahead of the start of this tournament, Team USA is getting to work with its training camp, which is taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Although there are no superstars on Steve Kerr’s Team USA squad right now, a few familiar faces have shown up in Las Vegas to check out some scrimmages that are taking place, with star point guard Chris Paul and Kyle Lowry being the latest to show up in Sin City via Jovan Buha of The Athletic.

The FIBA World Cup will get underway later this month on August 25 and go through until September 10, when a winner will be crowned, with Team USA currently favored to come out on top.

Although Kerr’s squad is the favorite right now, the team will have its work cut out for them, as Canada has an imposing squad, as does Australia, Slovenia, and France.
