The Damian Lillard saga continues, with the Portland Trail Blazers and Miami Heat still unable to see eye-to-eye on a blockbuster trade that would send the superstar guard to South Beach to play alongside star forward Jimmy Butler and close friend Bam Adebayo.

Even though the trade request from Lillard was made quite some time ago, the Blazers don’t seem to be any closer to trading the perennial All-Star, and that wasn’t made any easier after the NBA got involved recently by warning Lillard and his agent to stop saying publicly that he’ll only play for Miami.

At this point, there’s no telling what could happen in this situation, as he could very well end up in Miami when it is all said and done, or Portland may ship him elsewhere due to having a better deal on the table.

In the meantime, Adebayo is taking things in stride as he awaits the outcome of this trade saga, as he knows it is a business, and it has to be right for both sides in order to get a deal done, as he told Brendan Tobin of the Tobin & Leroy Show.

Along with Lillard, the Philadelphia 76ers have been unable to find the right deal to trade superstar guard James Harden, which has also become a long and drawn-out process.

It’ll be interesting to see where things go from here because the clock is ticking, and NBA training camp and preseason aren’t that far off, with both the Blazers and 76ers likely hoping to get something done sooner rather than later.
