Steve Kerr of the Golden State Warriors is now officially in charge of Team USA for the FIBA Basketball World Cup and he is intent on winning it all.

In 2019, the American team finished seventh in the tournament and Kerr is hoping they do much better when the games begin in the Philippines in a few weeks.

He recently gave his new recruits a pep talk, all captured by Team USA and shared by SLAM on Twitter.

“We’re gonna give you everything we have as a staff, and you guys are gonna give us everything that you have,” Kerr told the players.

Team USA is starting its practice sessions in Las Vegas, preparing to go against some of the best basketball talents on Earth when the World Cup begins.

On August 26, Team USA will open the games against New Zealand and Kerr has recently said that he isn’t taking anything for granted.

Although Team USA did very well in the most recent Olympics, winning their latest gold medal, the seventh-place finish in the last World Cup still stings.

Kerr believes in his roster and his coaching staff too.

Players like Paolo Banchero, Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, Austin Reaves, Jaren Jackson Jr., and others are some of the best of the best in the NBA.

They are also younger than the last team to participate in the World Cup, which could really help their strength and longevity.

Kerr knows that he will have to inspire his young players in order for them to push past Spain, Canada, France, and many other challenging opponents.

He has always been good at pushing his team and helping them dig deep and he is hoping to do it again at the World Cup.
