The Los Angeles Lakers and GM Rob Pelinka have gotten a lot of credit for the moves the team made and didn’t make during this NBA offseason, as it seems the storied franchise could be preparing for another run at a title during the 2023-24 season.

One of the main goals for Pelinka and company heading into the offseason was to keep their roster intact, as the front office believed they had done a great job of putting the right pieces around superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Although this was expected to be challenging, as the team also had some holes to fill with some players expected to leave the team, Pelinka did about as well as he could, putting together a roster that might be able to contend for a title next season.

A core piece to the championship puzzle added halfway through last season was forward Jarred Vanderbilt, who the team retained and who is already putting in the work ahead of next season, according to Chris Johnson Hoops via ClutchPoints.

Vanderbilt proved last season that he’s the perfect role player for the Lakers, as he can make an impact as a starter and off the bench with a versatile skill set.

Even though Vanderbilt has some work to do in the shooting department, the veteran forward will be arguably the team’s best defender behind Davis next season and crucial to the team’s success on that end of the basketball floor.

If the Lakers can put it together right out of the gate next season, Los Angeles will be a force to be reckoned with and a potential threat to the Denver Nuggets’ hopes of repeating.
