The New York Yankees have been struggling as of late.

Heading into Tuesday’s trade deadline, the Yankees have lost two consecutive games and are in last place in the American League East with a record of 55-51.

The offense has been a point of contention for the Yankees.

The Yankees have struggled on the offensive side this season and are in need of some outfield help.

With the Seattle Mariners selling this year at the trade deadline, Teoscar Hernandez has become a name that teams may have interest in.

On Twitter, Jon Heyman of the New York Post noted that he could be of interest to the Yankees and that he could help their offense.

The position player market hasn’t been moving too much as of late.

Heyman took note of this and pointed out that the Yankees may have to seriously consider this move if they want to improve their offense and stay in contention for a spot in the postseason.

However, it appears that the Yankees’ interest is “limited.”

The 30-year-old is hitting just .238, but has hit 16 home runs and has 59 RBI.

The former All-Star possesses power and could be a key addition to the Yankees lineup if he does indeed get moved by the Mariners.

As Heyman previously noted, it is something that the Yankees could take a closer look at given the fact that their offense has been a point of weakness.

The Yankees won 99 games last year and took home their first AL East title since 2019.
