Danielle Hunter’s career with the Minnesota Vikings has been filled with interesting twists and turns.

While he has been an impactful player on the field, he and the team have been involved in several contract disputes.

There had been several reports throughout the offseason that Hunter was disappointed with his current contract, which could have jeopardized his role in the future.

However, he and the team agreed to a one-year, $20 million contract, quelling his concerns for the time being.

After signing, Hunter’s outlook changed immediately, and it appears he’s excited to give this team his all in 2023.

In a conversation with Fox 9’s Jeff Wald, Hunter went so far as to say, “I want to be a Viking forever.”

Hunter has spent his entire career with the Vikings.

He’s struggled with injury concerns at times, but he played all 17 games during the 2022 campaign.

Last season, he racked up 65 total tackles, 10.5 sacks, and one forced fumble.

His veteran leadership should work wonders for the Vikings’ defense, who look to get right for the 2023 season.

While the Vikings have been known for strong defensive play over the past several seasons, they took a step back in 2022, allowing 25.1 points per game.

This was the third-highest total in the league, behind just the Arizona Cardinals and Chicago Bears.

With any luck, Hunter will be able to encourage his young teammates, working diligently to improve the Vikings’ defense.

After winning the division last year, the Vikings will look to not only make the postseason but to make a much deeper run.
