Kevin Garnett Lauds Jaylen Brown’s Big Gesture For Boston Community

Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics has given back to the city he has found so much success in.

And a former Celtics star is awfully proud of him.

Brown spoke to Dorchester after doing a redesign of a local playground’s basketball court and told residents, “As long as I’m here, things like this will continue.”

Kevin Garnett was moved by what he saw and tweeted at Brown, saying, “Love this lil bro.”

Originally from Georgia, Brown has made a nice home for himself in Boston with his Celtics.

He has averaged 17.9 points and 5.2 rebounds per game during his 7 years with the team and has helped them enter a brand new, exciting era.

Because of this, he has been selected as an All-Star twice and has also helped the team reach the Finals.

Giving back to the community is a sign that Brown is quite happy in Boston and isn’t looking to depart any time soon.

However, his future with the team is currently being negotiated.

He is eligible for a supermax contract extension with the Celtics.

But even though that eligibility started on July 1, no new deal has been announced.

Everyone agrees that the Celtics will likely extend Brown and that they are just working out the details right now.

The fact that they aren’t rushing to finish this contract is proof that the relationship between the player and team is strong, some people argue.

The Celtics are figuring out a lot of things right now and might make a few more moves in free agency.

But they will also do whatever they must to keep Brown around.

That is good for the team and also the community of Boston as well.
