Hawks Star Led NBA In 1 Unique Category Last Season
The Atlanta Hawks are a team that could potentially take a big jump during the 2023-24 NBA season, with the franchise needing to see if the dynamic duo of Trae Young and Dejounte Murray will work and turn out to be a winning combination.
When the Hawks acquired Murray from the San Antonio Spurs, Atlanta appeared to have added the missing piece to the puzzle and would take the next step as a potential threat in the Eastern Conference.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t an instant success for the Hawks as they’ve struggled to live up to expectations, which has led to speculation about the team potentially moving on from Young, and that may happen if the upcoming season isn’t a success.
As for Murray, it seems as though no other player in the NBA is better at getting buckets in the second quarter of games, with some of the league’s best players behind him in the category, like De’Aaron Fox, Jayson Tatum, and LeBron James, according to Basketball Reference.

The clock is ticking in Atlanta, especially since the team brought in Quin Snyder to help right the ship as the team’s new head coach, as he’s got a good track record for winning games and managing egos as he did with the Utah Jazz.
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out in Atlanta as Young and Murray try to lead this team to new heights and attempt to make a deep playoff run to prove that this squad has been correctly constructed with the right leadership at the top.
