Le’Veon Bell Makes An Honest Admission To Steelers Fans

Several years ago, Le’Veon Bell was one of the best running backs in the NFL, and he teamed up with star wide receiver Antonio Brown and legendary quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to make the Pittsburgh Steelers a contender.

They had reached the Super Bowl in 2010 with a somewhat different cast, and it looked like perhaps they had a shot at yet another Vince Lombardi Trophy thanks to Bell.

But after five stellar seasons with the Steelers, Bell got into a contract dispute with them, and he left following the 2017 campaign.

He just gave what seemed like a genuine apology to Steelers Nation for leaving what was a very good team.

After he was a second-round draft pick in 2013, Bell ran for 860 yards and eight touchdowns as a rookie.

The very next season, he exploded for 1,361 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns while adding 854 yards and three touchdowns in the air and being named to both the Pro Bowl and All-Pro First Team.

He was named again to both squads in 2017, but that year, he was placed under Pittsburgh’s franchise tag after reportedly turning down a fairly generous two-year contract.

Bell made it clear he didn’t want to play under a franchise tag again, and when the team used it on him again that offseason, he sat out the entire 2018 campaign.

Afterward, he played for four teams in three seasons and suddenly went from a bona fide star to a pedestrian player.

Bell’s contract dispute helped trigger the dismantling of what was a talented and promising Steelers team.
