Fans React To Le’Veon Bell’s Apology About Leaving Steelers
Not too long ago, Le’Veon Bell was one of the NFL’s best running backs, and he helped make the Pittsburgh Steelers winners once again.
But he left the team a few years ago after a contract dispute in which he felt they didn’t pay him what he was worth.
After leaving Pittsburgh, Bell bounced around the league and was never the same again, and he hasn’t played since the 2021 season.
He just issued what seemed like a genuine apology to Steelers fans for leaving the franchise.
Le’Veon Bell on Snapchat: “I never apologized to the fans for really sitting out or leaving the Steelers. I never apologized. So, I’m gonna say I apologize for leaving the best fans there is in this damn world. I shouldn’t have left. I apologize.” pic.twitter.com/rWgY1cfhRC

Some fans believe Bell’s apology and feel sympathy for him.
I’m sorry the Steelers couldn’t give you what you believed you were worth. You were an amazing RB that changed the way we look at receiving backs. It’s sad that guys like Saquon still can’t get the bag after what you went through trying to make the position more valuable.

But others don’t feel the least bit sorry for him.
Way to late. You were going to the hall of fame. You screwed up your whole career and legacy

In his five seasons with Pittsburgh, Bell was impressive — he made the Pro Bowl three times and the All-Pro First Team twice.
He surpassed 1,250 rushing yards three times during that span and led everyone in carries during the 2017 season.
He played that season under the Steelers’ franchise tag, and when they used the tag on him again for the 2018 campaign, he sat out the entire schedule.
Bell became a free agent in 2019, and he signed with the New York Jets, but his production significantly dropped even though he was just 27 years of age.
While he was in Pittsburgh, the team reached the AFC Championship Game in 2016 (where they got blown out by Tom Brady and the New England Patriots), but once he left, they fell off a cliff.
Since his departure, they have reached the playoffs twice, but they have failed to win a single playoff contest.
