The Kansas City Chiefs are the team to beat in the AFC right now.

However, despite Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Andy Reid still being there, some people doubted their ability to go the distance without Tyreek Hill last season.

Notably, the Cincinnati Bengals had somewhat bragging rights over them after beating them in the AFC Championship Game, and Joe Burrow had historically fared well against them, so a rivalry started brewing there.

That became even more evident during Netflix’s ‘Quarterback’ series, with James Palmer sharing a clip of Mahomes stating that he wanted to play the Bengals in the playoffs because he was tired of all the talking, even if he knew they would match up better vs. the Buffalo Bills.

That clip shows Mahomes’ competitive nature, as he was thinking of his next rival right after beating the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Divisional Game.

Mahomes backed up the talk on the field by taking down Burrow and the Bengals en route to another trip to the Super Bowl, putting an end to all the yapping, as even the Mayor of Cincinnati had said some things about the rivalry.

Now, it’ll be up to the Bengals to get bragging rights back, especially after star WR Ja’Marr Chase seemingly took a huge shot at Mahomes.

This will be one of the most entertaining rivalries to watch in the league for years to come.

But for now, Mahomes and the reigning Super Bowl champions seem to have bragging rights in this story.
