With the trade deadline fast approaching, speculation is everywhere.

Some around the game have speculated that the Los Angeles Angels may end up trading two-way star Shohei Ohtani.

Most have reported that this is unlikely, despite the fact that Ohtani will be a free agent at the end of the 2023 season and is likely to earn himself a nice payday.

However, an Ohtani trade can’t be ruled out just yet.

According to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, via Stadium on Twitter, the Angels are reportedly fielding offers for the former American League MVP and they’re not completely ruling out the possibility of a trade at the deadline.

This would be the biggest story of the trade deadline if Ohtani ends up being traded.

The two-way star is having yet another MVP-caliber season, pitching like an ace and hitting like an MVP, which is true to his form.

He owns a 3.32 ERA over his 17 starts and has a record of 7-4 as a pitcher.

As a hitter, he owns a .302 batting average and has crushed 32 home runs.

He also has driven in 71 runs and has an OPS of 1.050.

Any trade for Ohtani would be a blockbuster deal, as he will most certainly not come cheap.

But even with the Angels still within striking distance in the AL West and AL Wild Card races, it appears that they are in fact fielding offers for arguably the most dynamic player in all of baseball.

What a package for Ohtani would look like is still not yet known.
