Less than two years after his stellar NFL career ended, former star cornerback Richard Sherman seems to be on the verge of landing a promising new gig.

He has reportedly been named a candidate to become Skip Bayless’ co-host on “Undisputed” and take the place of the recently departed Shannon Sharpe.

Sharpe had been alongside Bayless on the show for nearly seven years until he abruptly left last month.

Fans are tantalized by the prospect of Sherman, who seemingly has no filter, teaming up with Bayless to debate the latest sports stories and issues of the day.

Some feel the pairing could become even more combustible than the previous pairing of Sharpe and Bayless.

Sherman played 11 seasons in the NFL and has five Pro Bowl selections, two All-Pro First-Team nods, three trips to the Super Bowl, and one Vince Lombardi Trophy to his name.

He spent much of his career with the Seattle Seahawks as a major part of their “Legion of Boom” defense, but he later suited up for the San Francisco 49ers, their once-bitter rivals, for two seasons.

Last season, Sherman spent time as a pregame and postgame analyst for Amazon Prime’s coverage of Thursday night NFL games, and he has also gotten involved in the cryptocurrency craze.
