Dwyane Wade found quite the success in the NBA, but he keeps winning even after retiring.

Recently, the three-time NBA champion took to Twitter to confirm the months-long rumors of his new business endeavor, sharing his excitement after joining the Chicago Sky’s ownership group.

Wade had already tested the waters with a similar venture, joining the Utah Jazz as a minority stake owner shortly after walking away from the court.

The Sky is one of the few WNBA franchises with no ties to their NBA counterparts, and they’ll now be joined by a hometown hero who surely knows one thing or two about basketball.

Wade wasn’t the highest-touted recruit when he was in Chicago, and he had to work his way up when he attended Marquette to later take his talents to the NBA.

He would go on to become one of the most influential and dominant shooting guards to ever live, not to mention the undisputed greatest player in Miami Heat history.

Notably, Chicago Bulls fans didn’t get to enjoy his best version — at least as part of the team — when he had a brief stint with his hometown team after his brief hiatus away from South Beach.

Now, he’ll be able to give back to the fans by making sure the Chicago Sky become an even bigger name in the WNBA, and while that might not be enough compared to all the times he beat the Bulls with the Heat, that’s definitely a step in the right direction.
