MLB has released the schedule for the 2024 season, with a full Opening Day set for March 28.

With the new schedule format, each team in baseball will play each other for at least one series.

That allows fans to see every team in baseball play their favorite team and gets more exposure for the players.

Yet, there is still plenty of room for rivalry games in the new format.

One of the budding rivalries in MLB is the New York Yankees versus the Houston Astros.

Those teams do not like each other, dating back to the cheating scandal the Astros had in 2017.

According to MLB on Twitter, the Yankees and Astros will start the 2024 season against each other.

Fans and players will never forget what the Astros did and how they got off easy.

None of the players get suspended for what they did.

We have seen players suspended for far less than cheating the game.

As you could see from the All-Star Game, whenever the Astros are mentioned the “boos” come out.

Since this opening series will be in Houston it will make for far less animosity.

But it will be fun to see these two franchises play against each other again.

Outside of the 2017 season, these teams have met in the playoffs plenty of times.

That includes last year when the Astros swept the Yankees in the ALCS.

With the way their rosters stack up, many more chapters need to be written in this rivalry.
