The Cleveland Cavaliers have one of the NBA’s best and most promising young rosters, and although they got humbled in the first round of the playoffs just weeks ago, they can seemingly only get better.

They have just acquired Max Strus, a gutsy 6-foot-5 forward that helped the Miami Heat make their unexpected run to the NBA Finals, and he could be the answer to the Cavs’ search for a reliable 3-and-D wing.

Strus was recently spotted at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas along with Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland to watch the Cavs’ squad, via NBA on ESPN.

On Monday, Cleveland won their second summer league game in as many days by defeating the Memphis Grizzlies, 100-77, and they were led by Sam Merrill (27 points and eight 3-pointers) and Emoni Bates (21 points).

But despite how well certain players may do in summer league play, the organization needs some grizzled vets in order to get to the next level.

That was evident when the Cavs got rolled in the first round of the playoffs by the New York Knicks, a team that had a tougher and more rugged frontline, not to mention more experienced vets.

Despite the potential and promise of big men Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley, they still need another experienced and physical frontline player, especially after Kevin Love left this past season.

But if they end up getting their hands on such a player, they should have a great shot at winning their first playoff series since LeBron James’ final season with them.
