The San Francisco 49ers are one of the favorites to win this coming season’s Super Bowl, and when one looks at their defense, it’s no wonder why.

They had the league’s best defense in 2022, as they led everyone in points and total yards allowed, and their centerpiece on that side of the football is defensive end Nick Bosa.

He recorded 18.5 sacks, 48 quarterback hits, and 19 tackles for loss, and he was named the Defensive Player of the Year, which came in addition to his third Pro Bowl and first All-Pro First-Team nod.

NFL players, scouts, executives, and coaches have also voted him the best edge rusher in the game, per NFL on ESPN.

Bosa is an imposing figure at 6-foot-4 and 266 pounds, and the mere thought of him being in pursuit of an opposing quarterback is enough to induce nightmares.

But this coming season, he won’t have to do his thing alone.

Joining him on San Francisco’s defensive line will be defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, who had 11 sacks last season with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Behind Bosa is middle linebacker Fred Warner, who was recently voted the best off-ball linebacker, as well as Dre Greenlaw, who ranked No. 10 on that list.

The 49ers also have a solid secondary with safety Talanoa Hufanga, who was voted onto the All-Pro First-Team in 2022, as well as cornerback Charvarius Ward.

Combined with several playmakers on offense, these men give San Francisco a team that seems bound for a world championship, if not this coming season then just shortly afterward.
