A few weeks ago, Jordan Poole was moved from the Golden State Warriors to the Washington Wizards.

This capped off a long, complicated season for the guard, who had signed a major contract extension with the Warriors just months before.

According to Poole, he was “kind of” prepared to be traded and felt like something could happen when NBA Draft Day approached in June.

Via video from Jason Dumas, Poole told the media that he and his agent spoke on the day of the trade about a possible deal coming together.

In the end, Poole’s suspicions were correct.

The fact that Poole “kind of” knew he could be traded speaks to his relationship with the Warriors.

For months, people had been wondering if Poole had a future with Golden State, even with his recent extension.

The season started in a bad way, with Poole getting punched by Draymond Green during a practice session.

He ended up averaging 20.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists a game but hit a very rough patch when the team needed him most.

During the playoffs, his average dropped down to 10.3 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists.

Countless fans were left angry and confused by the struggles that he had in the postseason.

Those problems, paired with the Green situation, had numerous people thinking that Poole could be on his way out of Golden State.

Poole must have been well aware that his time with the Warriors could be coming to an end.

When he was eventually sent to the Wizards as part of the Chris Paul deal, it marked the beginning of a new chapter in Poole’s career.

Now Washington fans are wondering which version of him they will get.
