Chris Paul Says There Has Been No Discussion About His Role With Warriors
The Golden State Warriors made one of the boldest moves in recent NBA history by deciding to trade for Chris Paul.
Of course, most teams wouldn’t hesitate to acquire Paul at a discount, even at this point in his career.
The thing is that the Warriors also have the best point guard in the league right now in Stephen Curry.
That’s why most people thought they were just trying to get rid of Jordan Poole’s huge contract in a salary-dump move, but the Warriors have made it clear that they intend to keep and play Paul.
With that in mind, the legendary point guard recently confirmed to Anthony Slater of The Athletic that there had been no discussions about his role with the team next season yet.
There’s been no discussion between Chris Paul and Steve Kerr about Paul coming off the bench. “It’ll be a conversation when camp starts. Me and Steve have talked, but that ain’t something where it’s, ‘What up, man? You starting or coming off the bench.” pic.twitter.com/JYSO9hcHqE

Paul admitted that he’s been in touch with his new coach Steve Kerr, but they have yet to talk about him either coming off the bench or starting alongside Curry, adding that those talks will be held once training camp begins.
Even if he starts, one would think that Kerr would stagger his minutes with Curry, with Paul likely spending most of his minutes with the second unit.
That’s great news for the likes of Moses Moody and Jonathan Kuminga, as they’ll now have an elite playmaker giving them the ball, and Paul has often been great with young players.
There will be a clash in styles and things might not look good at first, but the Warriors will still be a must-watch team with these two future Hall of Famers running the offense.
