Bengals Defender Has A Clear Goal For The 2023 Season

After another solid season in 2022, the Cincinnati Bengals are expected to continue taking steps toward being a legitimate Super Bowl title contender and knocking the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs off their pedestal.

Although the Bengals are no longer a surprise team in the NFL, with everyone realizing they’re the real deal with superstar Joe Burrow under center, Cincinnati will have high expectations heading into the 2023 campaign, with anything short of a title being a disappointment.

Along with a lot of pressure being on Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase to get things going offensively, defensive end Sam Hubbard has high expectations for himself coming into next season as he’s aiming for double-digit sacks via Around the NFL.

Although Hubbard isn’t a household name and isn’t considered among the elite at the defensive end position in the NFL, he does have the opportunity to make a name for himself on the biggest stage, with the Bengals now being must-see TV for football fans.

Hubbard did leave his mark in the NFL playoffs last season when he scored a defensive touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens in which he recovered a fumble and ran in the 98-yard score.

The 28-year-old defensive end has recorded 30.5 sacks in his NFL career thus far and is coming off a season with 6.5 sacks to his credit.

Hubbard’s career-high sack total is 8.5, which he got in his second year with the Bengals, and he came close to tying that total in 2021, ending the season with 7.5.

If Hubbard can get the double-digit sack total he desires, the Bengals will be more than grateful, as they’ll be more of a force to be reckoned with defensively.
