Analyst Sounds Off On Dillon Brooks’ Next Contract
With NBA free agency well underway and a lot of players changing teams or getting paid to stay put, some of the moves are starting to get heavily criticized, especially when it comes to what the Houston Rockets have done so far this summer.
As if paying veteran point guard Fred VanVleet $130 million wasn’t enough of an eye-popping move, the Rockets took it to another level with the move that followed.
The team agreed to bring in controversial forward Dillon Brooks, formerly of the Memphis Grizzlies, on an absurd deal that could go down as one of the worst of this free agency period.
Brooks signed a four-year deal with the Rockets worth $80 million, which pays him $20 million per year over the next four seasons.
After a seemingly disastrous end to his stint with the Grizzlies, it seemed like Brooks might struggle to cash in during free agency, but that wasn’t the case, and Liv of Volume Sports has sounded off on the questionable move by Houston, as seen below.

Although Brooks is one of the better perimeter defenders in the NBA, the veteran forward could do more harm than good in Houston, especially with the majority of the roster being impressionable kids fresh out of college.
However, the Rockets were desperate to make game-changing moves this summer and clearly think Brooks could be an important piece to the puzzle.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Brooks experiment pans out in Houston and whether the Rockets made the right move to improve their roster.
