The next era of Team USA men’s basketball is about to get underway, with Steve Kerr taking over as head coach and a lot of new faces set to make their debut on the international stage.
Ahead of the FIBA World Cup, which will start in late August, Team USA has officially put together its roster of 12 NBA players.
According to the USA Basketball Twitter account, seven of the players chosen to represent the United States this summer are All-NBA players, with four being All-Stars and three having already won gold medals.

Although the Team USA roster doesn’t consist of superstar players like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, or Stephen Curry, the roster has a lot of talent on it, with Brandon Ingram and Anthony Edwards being arguably the biggest names.
Every single player on this Team USA roster has something to prove and is either coming off a breakout season, like Austin Reaves and Tyrese Haliburton, or has started to establish themselves as household names with bright futures, like Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges.
As of right now, the Americans are favored to come out on top in the FIBA World Cup, which might be a product of the unknown statuses of some of the other star players from other countries like Giannis Antetokounmpo (Greece).
It should be an entertaining tournament that will have a lot of basketball fans tuning in, with superstars Nikola Jokic (Serbia) and Luka Doncic (Slovenia) expected to participate, along with talented players for France, Australia, and Spain.
