The Miami Heat are going to great lengths to try and acquire Damian Lillard.

Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra patiently waited until Lillard finally requested a trade, but it’s not like they have an appealing set of assets to offer for the multi-time All-Star.

Moreover, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports that the Blazers have been less than impressed with the offers they’ve gotten thus far, adding that they have no interest in Tyler Herro (via NBA Central).

Herro is an efficient scorer from all three levels, and he’s shown the ability to be a solid ball-handler and secondary playmaker as well.

However, he hasn’t taken that leap forward, and his development kind of stalled after that impressive rookie season.

He’s still young and might only need more touches to finally break out as a perennial 25+ points per game kind of guy, but that might not happen in Portland.

As of now, it seems like the Heat’s best shot at landing Lillard is to either get multiple teams involved in a blockbuster trade or hope that Dame forces his way out of Rip City and onto South Beach by shutting down all teams interested in acquiring his services.

The Brooklyn Nets have been rumored to be willing to absorb some of the Heat’s outgoing salaries, and pairing Herro with Mikal Bridges, Nic Claxton, and Cameron Johnson could be an interesting experiment for Jacque Vaughn.

Even so, we might have to wait for weeks before this potential transaction goes down, as the Blazers are in no rush to get a deal done.
