The Hornets Have Announced A Contract Decision On LaMelo Ball

The Charlotte Hornets are not a team that many expected to make noise in free agency.

They are in the middle of a long rebuild and are more focused on acquiring and developing young talent.

One of the big acquisitions they made was by selecting Brandon Miller second overall in the NBA draft.

He is expected to be a cornerstone of their franchise along with point guard LaMelo Ball.

According to NBA on TNT, the Hornets have agreed to a five-year max contract extension with Ball.

The deal is worth up to $260 million and Ball will be leading the Hornets backcourt for many years to come.

Last season he was only able to play 36 games, yet he averaged 23.3 points, 8.4 assists, and 6.4 rebounds.

He also made an All-Star team when he was only 20 years old.

Ball has improved every season of his career and that should continue with better players around him.

The ability to distribute is something that makes Ball unique.

He has elite passing skills which is a major reason why he has averaged over 6.1 assists every year of his career.

While the Hornets are not a team expected to compete next year they will be fun to watch.

Ball is the right man to lead his team back to relevance.

The Hornets just need to land a few more good players to make some noise in the Eastern Conference.
