Pacers ‘Strongly’ Considering Making Substantial Offer To Max Strus
The Miami Heat are coming off an incredible season in which the team led by Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo was able to defy the odds and go all the way from the play-in tournament to the NBA Finals.
Even though the Heat ultimately lost to the Denver Nuggets in five games in the Finals, Miami proved a lot of people wrong and saw some potential stars or at least solid role players emerge in the process of their remarkable playoff run.
One of those players is Max Strus, who will hit NBA free agency this weekend and could draw significant interest from one team in particular in the Eastern Conference.
According to Marc Stein, via The Trade Deadline, the Indiana Pacers have emerged as a strong candidate to sign Strus once he officially becomes a free agent.
“The Indiana Pacers, who are projected to have more than $30 million in salary cap space, are strongly weighing a three-year offer for [Max] Strus in the $48 million range.”

The Pacers are a team on the rise in the Eastern Conference, with the move to bring in Tyrese Haliburton being a game-changer for the struggling NBA franchise, as he showed he could be this team’s undisputed leader last season.
Along with Haliburton leading the way, the Pacers have a strong supporting cast with veterans like Myles Turner and Buddy Hield and young up-and-comers like Bennedict Mathurin and Chris Duarte.
Adding Strus would be another step in the right direction for Indiana as the franchise tries to mold this squad into a perennial playoff contender in the East.
Last season, Strus averaged 11.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists while shooting 41% from the floor and 35% from beyond the arc.
