The 76ers Have Reportedly Made A Decision About Tobias Harris
The Philadelphia 76ers will be a very busy team this summer as the Eastern Conference heavyweights try to figure out how to keep their squad relatively intact while also bringing in missing pieces to the championship puzzle.
Although all the attention right now is on superstar guard James Harden and whether he wants to stay in Philadelphia or head back to the Houston Rockets, the team also has other areas to address, like the immediate future of Tobias Harris.
Even though Harris is a savvy veteran and an essential piece to the puzzle in Philadelphia, it could be argued that he’s overpaid and might be better suited as a trade chip for the 76ers rather than a player to keep moving forward.
There have been plenty of rumors about Harris’ future with the team, but according to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer, the team is adamant about keeping Harris in Philadelphia via NBA Central.

Believe it or not, Harris was the highest-paid player on the 76ers this past season, as he made $37.6 million, which was four million more than reigning NBA MVP Joel Embiid and nearly five more than Harden.
That’s why many believe he’s overpaid, but those days will end next season with Embiid set to make $46.9 million compared to Harris’ $39.2 million in the last year of his deal with the team.
With Harris having an expiring contract, he’s an attractive trade piece, and it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that the 76ers ultimately try to move him if they can get multiple assets in return.
