So far, the 2023 season has been one to forget for the St. Louis Cardinals.

The team has won a National League most 11 World Series titles and has also secured 19 National League pennants.

However, this season has not been what fans, players, or media members were expecting on Opening Day.

The Cardinals lost their sixth straight game on Friday night, losing to the New York Mets by a final score of 6-1.

Fans have grown frustrated with this recent slide.

On Twitter, Cardinals insider Randy Karraker gave a very controversial take that likely won’t sit well with the fanbase, saying that because the team has had so much success, the fans have become “spoiled” and “entitled.”

While it’s true that many Cardinals fans are lucky to have seen so much success from the team, calling the fanbase spoiled and entitled isn’t the best look.

Ultimately, fans have become frustrated with the front office and their lack of activity in recent years at trade deadlines and in offseasons.

That lack of activity has led the Cardinals to this point now.

They are 16 games below .500 and are 8.5 games out of first place in the NL Central.

Yet time and again, the front office has preached patience with the fanbase, which has only added salt to the wound.

To refer to the fanbase with such language will not sit well with many Cardinals fans, who expect to see a contending ballclub year in and year out and pay good money to attend games.

Fans have been lucky to see some great teams, but ultimately, the responsibility falls on the front office to hold up their end of the bargain and build a contending team.
