Robert Saleh Has A Clear Opinion About Jets Possibly Being On Hard Knocks

Starting in 2001, the HBO series “Hard Knocks” has documented one NFL team each season as it goes through training camp and features many different players, coaches and storylines, both on and off the field.

The New York Jets would seem to be a good candidate this year, as they have a new quarterback in future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers, a few of Rodgers’ old companions from the Green Bay Packers, and lots of young talent on both sides of the ball.

In addition, the Jets have legitimate Super Bowl aspirations for the first time since the days of Joe Namath.

However, head coach Robert Saleh said he’s not interested in having his team featured on “Hard Knocks.”

Last season, the show followed the Detroit Lions as they went through training camp, and the Lions ended up getting hot during the second half of the season after a very poor start.

Perhaps Saleh simply doesn’t want the added pressure and scrutiny of being followed around by television cameras throughout camp as his team looks to build chemistry and a winning mindset.

Despite the talent the Jets now possess throughout their roster, they face an uphill climb if they are to meet expectations and make it to the big game.

The AFC is extremely loaded, and their own division may become even tougher very soon, as many believe the Miami Dolphins are about to add Dalvin Cook, a four-time Pro Bowl running back.

But at least with Rodgers on board, New York will be more competitive than they’ve been for most of the last half-century.
