Patriots WR Feels He Didn’t Give The Team His Best Effort In 2022
One doesn’t have to be a football expert to realize that the New England Patriots’ offensive display in 2022 left a lot to be desired.
Bill Belichick’s offense was stagnant, predictable, and flat-out boring, which wasn’t much of a surprise, considering former defensive coordinator Matt Patricia was in charge of play-calling.
But as difficult as Patricia and Belichick made it for the players, WR Kendrick Bourne also feels he didn’t give the team his best effort last year, vowing to be much better in 2023.
“I didn’t give the team my best effort,” Bourne said. “Personally we as players have to be our best so we can give the team the opportunity to win and I feel like I didn’t do that.”

The Pats brought in JuJu Smith-Schuster to serve as Mac Jones’ primary target in the passing game.
And while Smith-Schuster has failed to reach star status — and likely never will — he should still be an upgrade over what they had on their hands last season, which is a lot to say.
Jones regressed vastly from his rookie campaign, up to the point where some even questioned whether he had what it takes to carry Tom Brady’s torch as the face of the franchise going forward.
The Alabama product promised to earn everyone’s respect back with his play next season, and he knows he could lose his starting job to Bailey Zappe if he doesn’t deliver.
They brought in Bill O’Brien to serve as their new offensive coordinator, so things should obviously look much better in Foxboro next season.
Then again, they’re in a tough division, and it seems like they’ll have a tough time going back to the playoffs.
