The Miami Heat are down 2-1 in the NBA Finals to the Denver Nuggets, and all of a sudden, their championship hopes are in some jeopardy.

They had taken Game 2 in Denver after trailing by double digits, and afterward, there was a feeling that perhaps they had a slight advantage in the series moving forward.

But after dropping Game 3, 109-94, the Heat are in the familiar position of being an underdog.

For sharpshooter Duncan Robinson, he could be on the verge of yet another championship loss.

He has lost in the title round of the NCAA’s Division III and Division I tournaments, as well as in the 2020 NBA Finals.

Robinson is one of several undrafted players who have been a big key to Miami’s success over the last few years.

While Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo have been their big stars, Robinson, Gabe Vincent, Max Strus and Caleb Martin, all of whom went undrafted, have been perhaps their biggest role players.

Robinson had a dismal regular season, averaging 6.4 points per game and shooting just 37.1 percent overall and 32.8 percent from 3-point range while seeing his playing time go down drastically.

Just two seasons ago, he made 40.8 percent of his 3-point attempts, and the season prior to that, he was at 44.6 percent from beyond the arc.

However, in this year’s playoffs, Robinson has gotten hot by hitting on 44.3 percent from downtown.

He has shot well in the last two games, and Miami will need him and their other complementary players to step up in order to get a very crucial victory in Game 4.
