The Golden State Warriors are about to face their next big challenge in the postseason.

They are set to take on LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference semifinals.

It might be an intense series and there is no doubt that Stephen Curry will have an impact on each game.

Curry’s teammate, Gary Payton II, spoke about Curry with the press the other day.

He was asked about his first memory of the four-time champion.

Payton recalled a clear memory of a game he watched years ago.

“New York game, when he had…54 and it felt like he had 80. It was just anything he shot, touched, it was going in, and from that moment I was like, ‘Yeah,’” Payton said, stating he was sold on Curry then and there.

Payton went on to comment on the influence that Curry has had and how he has altered the way that the league plays.

He has become the player that so many young guards model themselves after.

“Just like everybody said, he changed the game. His range and what he can do with his dribble and create,” Payton said.

At 35 years old, Curry has been playing some of the best basketball of his career.

He scored 29.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game this season, averaging a strong 49.3% from the field.

He has been even more sensational in this year’s postseason, ending the first round with a monster 50-point performance to defeat the Kings.

Payton is one of the many people amazed by what Curry has done and what he is currently achieving.

“It’s fun to watch and amazing to be a part of,” Payton said of his peer and team leader.
