Last season, Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper played with ligament damage in his right elbow, among other ailments.

That wasn’t enough to stop him: he still managed to hit 18 home runs in 99 regular-season games and to completely take over the postseason, sending his Phillies to the World Series.

After the Fall Classic, he underwent Tommy John surgery and wasn’t supposed to return until June or July depending on his progress.

His recovery has been a complete miracle, and he will be in the lineup on Tuesday.

MLB Network is keeping us all hyped with a video celebrating the star’s return.

Philadelphia has been able to stay afloat during Harper’s absence.

They are 15-15 as of Tuesday afternoon, just 4.5 games behind the Atlanta Braves for the division lead.

It’s not insignificant, but it’s a manageable deficit with almost five months to go.

It will probably take a few weeks for Harper to get up to speed and get his swing where he wants it to be, but the Phillies are willing to let him start his journey on the big league team.

If Harper is truly healthy, the Phillies should be viewed as strong candidates, just as much as the Braves and the New York Mets.

They had a few holes on their roster that became evident in the World Series, and they went out and filled them.

They brought in star shortstop Trea Turner to fortify the lineup and give Harper another top-end player.

Get ready for the Harper-Turner-Kyle Schwarber-J.T. Realmuto-Nick Castellanos-Alec Bohm show every night.
