With the Milwaukee Bucks stumbling and potentially eliminated, this could’ve finally been the Philadephia 76ers’ year to go the distance.

Now, they could be without their best player to start their potential second-round series vs. the Boston Celtics.

According to Ramona Shelbourne and John Clark, Embiid is dealing with an LCL sprain.

And while he could play through that injury with a brace on his knee, his status is up in the air for the first couple of games of that series.

Needless to say, this was a massive blow for Sixers fans, who took to Twitter to either express their concerns or show their faith in the team.

It’s been the same story with Embiid ever since he made it to the league, and that’s been the biggest knock on him as an MVP candidate.

He dominates on both ends of the floor like few players, but he just can’t seem to stay healthy when it matters the most.

Notably, this is perhaps the deepest Sixers team he’s been a part of, so there’s still a chance they could steal a win on the road vs. Boston, even without him.

That would take some vintage James Harden and a huge game by Tyrese Maxey, and the Celtics are an elite defensive team.

Sixers fans can only hope that the Atlanta Hawks manage to pull off a miracle and force Game 6 despite Dejounte Murray’s suspension, so Embiid has more time to rest and heal.

But for now, things don’t look very well for Doc Rivers’ team
