The Toronto Raptors have made a change at head coach.

They have decided to move on from one of the best coaches in team history, Nick Nurse.

After a down season for the Raptors that saw them miss the playoffs, it was time to move on.

Nurse will forever be a Raptors legend as he led the team to their first-ever championship in 2019.

According to the Score, Nurse finishes his Raptors career second all-time in wins.

Part of the problem for the Raptors’ downfall was that they lost Kawhi Leonard.

He fueled their championship run in 2019, and they were never the same once he left.

It will be interesting to see if Nurse can land another coaching job.

Not many championship-winning coaches are available on the open market, so you would think he would have some interest.

As for the Raptors, it will not matter who their coach is if they cannot add more talent.

They never replaced Leonard, so they never made it back to the top of their conference.

The Raptors have a few pieces they can build around in Scottie Barnes and Fred VanVleet.

But, Toronto will still have to make some substantial changes to their roster this offseason.

One could be trading Pascal Siakam.

He is set to make a little over $37 million next year in what is the final year of his contract.

Finding a team to take on that contract could be a big move for the Raptors.

Getting rid of Nurse felt like the easy way out for the Raptors, as their problems were not all his fault.
