The NBA playoffs aren’t close to being done but multiple teams, including the Washington Wizards, are already making moves.

At least they are trying to.

According to The Athletic, via Real GM and NBACentral, the Wizards are “expected to inquire about the availability of Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri.”

There are a few teams around the league who have looked into hiring Ujiri in the past but he has remained with the Raptors each time.

However, it seems like the Raptors could be on the verge of some major changes and there is a chance that now could be the time for Ujiri to say goodbye to Toronto.

There was a lot of doubt online among fans about Ujiri taking a job in Washington, especially with all the trouble they have.

“Maybe his situation has changed but the Wizards current roster/draft pick/salary situation doesn’t put any new GM in a good spot,” one fan said.

Others were optimistic that if he did come to DC, maybe Ujiri could finally improve the team and build around the roster’s biggest stars.

Other people felt this is just another attempt to land Ujiri that won’t lead anywhere.

If the Wizards really are inquiring about acquiring Ujiri, it is a strong sign that they are contemplating big alterations of their own.

They have consistently come up short recently and didn’t even make the play-in tournament this year, ending the season with a 35-47 record.

Has the front office finally had enough?

Are they willing to completely alter the team?

If they asking about Ujiri, maybe they are making other inquiries throughout the league too.

Is this an indicator that the Wizards are about to change in a big way?
