The Atlanta Falcons would be wise to pursue a new quarterback.

Their current QB room consists of Taylor Heinicke and Desmond Ridder.

Ridder wasn’t impressive in limited action in his rookie season, and his prospects as an NFL starter were never all that clear to begin with.

As for Heinicke, he did show glimpses of solid play with the Washington Commanders the past couple of seasons, but he seems more suited to be a stopgap or a backup rather than a starter.

With that in mind, the Falcons will meet with projected top-10 pick C.J. Stroud, according to a report by Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network.

The Falcons currently have the eighth overall pick, so it’s highly unlikely that they’ll get a chance to land him, barring a trade.

They’ve already met with other top QB prospects and have done their due diligence on every single one of them, so they might be looking to move up in the first round.

Most mock drafts have the Ohio State star going second to the Houston Texans, while others believe he could slip all the way to fourth to the Indianapolis Colts

Should that be the case, then the Falcons could still hope to land Will Levis, Anthony Richardson, or even Hendon Hooker.

Still, they might not want to leave anything to chance and risk missing on any of the top-five QB prospects in this QB-heavy draft class, so let’s keep an eye on them for a potential transaction, especially as April 27 inches closer.
