Former MLB Pitcher Comments On His Boston Marathon Experience
Monday was a special day in the City of Boston.
It was Patriot Day, a day which includes the Boston Marathon and an early game for the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.
Former Red Sox pitcher Ryan Dempster, who was a part of the team’s 2013 World Series run, took part in this year’s Boston Marathon.
He even posted a selfie video of himself running.
The video showed him breathing heavily but enjoying his overall experience.
Dempster ultimately completed the marathon and rushed over to Fenway Park for Monday’s edition of “Intentional Talk,” which is MLB Network’s talk show.
During the episode, Dempster talked about his marathon experience and revealed that it was not only his first marathon, but that it will also be his last.

Dempster discussed just how special the marathon was, revealing that while he was running, there were people everywhere rooting for those taking part in the marathon.
The right-hander said that it gave him a little extra motivation to finish the race.
Still, Dempster doesn’t plan to run in another marathon, but you have to admire the effort he put into this one, especially considering that he had to race over to Fenway Park for Intentional Talk once the race was over.
The 45-year-old pitched for the Florida Marlins, Cincinnati Reds, Chicago Cubs, and Texas Rangers before playing out his final season in Boston in 2013.
He closed out Game 1 of the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals that year.
Over the course of his career, he won 132 games and posted an ERA of 4.35.
