COVID-19 isolation rules scrapped by national cabinet; Suspect arrested over LA
Foreign Minister Penny Wong has announced the appointment of six career diplomats in top ambassadorships.
· Dr Simon Twisk as Ambassador to Argentina.
· Dr Axel Wabenhorst as Ambassador to Egypt.
· Ms Melissa Kelly as Ambassador to Kuwait.
· Ms Indra McCormick as Ambassador to Portugal.
· Mr Tony Huber as Consul-General in Istanbul, Türkiye.
· Mr Andrew Goledzinowski AM as Ambassador to Vietnam.
She announced DFAT would be conducting a recruitment process to appoint ambassadors to Singapore, India, Japan and at the United Nations in New York.
Will Hodgman, Barry O’Farrell and Mitch Fifield, all former senior Liberal politicians, will be concluding their roles as ambassadors for Singapore, India and the UN respectively, in February.
