Cardinals vs. Chiefs score: Live updates, game stats, highlights as Kyler Murray

The Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs have kicked off at University of Phoenix Stadium on Sunday for an AFC vs. NFC showdown. Both teams are coming off disappointing playoff losses last season, the Chiefs losing to the Cincinnati Bengals in overtime in the AFC Championship and the Cardinals getting blown out by the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card Round.

Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray has a lot to prove the season after signing a five-year $230.5 million extension.

Things will be a little difficult for Murray to start the season, as he is without star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who is suspended for violating the leagues performance-enhancing drug policy.

The Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes leading their offense and as long as that is the case, they are a threat to any team in the league.

Mahomes, like Murray, will be without one of his most reliable players, Tyreek Hill, who left Kansas City for the Miami Dolphins this offseason. Mahomes still has tight end Travis Kelce and Juju Smith-Schuster who is making his Chiefs’ debut.

Both teams have high expectations as the 2022 NFL season begins and going against another top team in the league will be a good test for each side.
