Maharashtra political crisis LIVE Updates: The political crisis in Maharashtra continues, as the Supreme Court, a day ago, extended deadline till July 12 for the dissident group of Shiv Sena MLAs, led by Eknath Shinde, to explain to assembly deputy speaker why they shouldn’t be disqualified as legislators.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, i.e. today, senior Sena leader Sanjay Raut is scheduled to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with an alleged money laundering case. Raut, who received his summons yesterday, responded by saying he would not runaway to Guwahati, as he took a jibe at the rebel MLAs, who are camping at a hotel in the largest city in the northeastern state of Assam.

The ED’s summoning of Raut has been linked by many to the current flashpoint.
