Lightning vs. Avalanche Stanley Cup Final: Tampa Bay evens Game 1 at 3-3 after

Game 1 of the 2022 Stanley Cup Final has arrived as the Tampa Bay Lightning and Colorado Avalanche get set to do battle for hockey’s ultimate prize. Either the Lightning will win their third straight championship or the Avalanche will hoist the Cup for the first time since 2001.

The Avalanche have marched to the Stanley Cup Final without much resistance to this point. Through three playoff rounds, Colorado is 12-2 with a pair of sweeps on their record. Now, the Avs have to dispatch the back-to-back champs.

The Lightning have taken a more scenic route to this point. They knocked off the Maple Leafs in a heated seven-game series before sweeping their in-state rival, the Florida Panthers. In the Eastern Conference Finals, the Lightning dropped the first two games against the New York Rangers before winning four straight to advance.

Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final will begin at 8:00 p.m. ET on ESPN. Follow CBS Sports’ live updates below.
