Steph joins Dubs fans in mocking Boston bar that insulted Ayesha

After the Warriors won Game 5 Monday night and took a 3-2 series lead, Curry himself got in on making fun of the bar’s possibly series-jinxing sign.

When speaking to reporters after the game, Curry arrived wearing a custom t-shirt reading, “Ayesha Curry CAN Cook,” clearly a swipe at Game On!, the bar outside Fenway Park that displayed the sign. A reporter in the room was seemingly unaware of the context behind the shirt, and naturally had questions as to why Curry was wearing a shirt proclaiming that a celebrity chef can cook. After all, it’s the equivalent of her wearing a shirt that reads “Steph Curry can play basketball.”

“You gotta ask around the room and ask Twitter,” Curry replied.

Curry finished with 16 points in Game 5, and snapped a streak of 233 straight regular season and postseason games with a made three-pointer. The last time he played a game without making a single three was in November 2018.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been happier after a 0-for-whatever type of night, just knowing the context of the game, the other ways you tried to impact the game and the fact that you had four guys step up in meaningful ways to help us win offensively,” Curry said after the game.

The Warriors will have a chance to close out the series Thursday night, when the series heads back to Boston one last time for Game 6. We shall see if the bar has any new signage or if it would prefer to hide under a rock since the Warriors are now 2-0 in games since the sign was discovered.
