Britney Spears’ pre-wedding panic attack

On Thursday Britney Spears married Sam Asghari in what was an eventful, dramatic, difficult but ultimately happy occasion for the star.

Spears, 40, revealed on Friday that in the build up to the big moment, she had a panic attack. It is not clear yet whether this was before or after her ex-husband tried to crash the party.

“Wow!!! Holy holy cr*p!!! WE DID IT!!! WE GOT MARRIED!!! Gggggeeeeezzzzz!!! [sic] It was the most spectacular day!!!” Spears wrote on Instagram.

“I was so nervous all morning but then at 2:00 pm it really hit me…WE’RE GETTING MARRIED!!!” she continued. “I had a panic attack and then got it together.”

Prior to the ceremony, Spears‘ former husband Jason Alexander, to whom she was wed for less than three days after a Vegas ceremony in 2004, had tried to interrupt proceedings.

Alexander, 40, was detained and later arrested by police on four charges, including trespass, and the couple were quickly granted a restraining order. A childhood friend of the star, he was seen on video footage declaring his intent to crash the party and questioning the lack of family at the event.

Among those who were present, however, were Madonna, Selena Gomez, Paris Hilton and Madonna.

Despite the nerves and potential setbacks, Spears enjoyed the day and celebrated in style.

“The crew who created our home into literally a dream castle were fantastic!!! The ceremony was a dream and the party was even better!!! So many incredible people came to our wedding and I’m still in shock!!!” wrote Spears.
